The 2012 City Budget
Making Geneva great...sounds like a no brainer, right? Staff thinks
so, and as such, we present the 2012 City of Geneva Budget Proposal.
The recommendations, linked below, provide the resources necessary to propel
Geneva toward greatness in 2012 and beyond. Specifically, the
proposals drive Geneva forward toward achieving our vision of being a safe,
vibrant community in which to live, work, play, and invest. This is
achieved through investments in:
Economic Development: The proposal is a call to action in the areas of
tourism, industrial development, downtown revitalization, and cultural
investment. Staff recommends engagement of critical community partners
to leverage resources geared at making Geneva a community of choice for
businesses to invest, and a "can't miss" destination on any northeast travel
itenerary.
Lakefront Amenities: Development of Geneva's unmatched Seneca Lake
waterfront as a critical civic amenity is a priority for 2012. This
includes recreational and performance spaces that contribute to Geneva as a
tourism and cultural destination in the Finger Lakes.
Community Outreach: Our groundbreaking Community Compact with a series
of multicultural agencies will have significant public investment behind it.
This includes resources to foster diversity in City hiring and
community-wide programming to promote greater harmony throughout our
poplution.
Youth Programming: A partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of
Geneva will provide critical programming for Geneva' youth in the areas of
leadership development, education and careers, lifestyle planning, and
athletic skills.
These investments and so many more make up our roadmap toward greatness for
2012. Please review the links below for more information on these
incredible programs.
