Residents, Business, and Guests of the City of Geneva:
It is my humble pleasure to serve you as City Manager. I take great
pride in our community, and in the work you, your families, and your
employees do to make Geneva a truly wonderful place to live, work, play, and
invest.
I am responsible for the day-to-day management of all City departments.
I am supported by an outstanding group of managers and action-level
employees that take very seriously the task of leveraging your investment to
make our community great.
At the core of our approach to management is the belief that you, as
customer-investors, should have the ultimate say in how our community is
managed. For that reason, we take our customer service role very
seriously. Our action level staff is empowered to do everything within
our charge to make sure that you have a great experience in Geneva.
I take my direction from the Geneva City Council; a dedicated group of
elected officials, chosen by our residents to set policy toward achieving
the vision of making Geneva a community of choice for residents, businesses,
and guests. To that end, they have established a set of strategic
imperatives, which include: economic development, talent capitalization,
asset promotion, and cultivating pride of place.
With each investment of public resources; be it funds that you have paid in
the form of taxes or fees, or other resources including manpower, equipment,
etc., we ask ourselves “How is this investment furthering City Council’s
Strategic Imperatives?” Unless we have a pretty good answer, we hold
off on making the investment.
I hope you find the information on our website informative as you make
decisions about living, working, and playing in Geneva. My staff
and I are so pleased that you have chosen to be here, and we are at your
beck and call.
