Finger Lakes Boating Museum and Visitors' CenterFLBM-VC Concept Drawing

The City is pleased to partner with the Finger Lakes Boating Museum, the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce, and the State of New York on development of a first-class museum and visitors' center on the north shore of pristine Seneca Lake.

The Finger Lakes Boating Museum, chartered by the New York State Department of Education in 1997, will serve as a destination for boating enthusiasts and other visitors seeking to explore the rich history of boat building and boating in the Finger Lakes.  The Museum has an ever-expanding collection of boats and boating materials showcasing this increidble lineage.

The Visitors' Center will serve as a tourism portal for visitors from around the country seeking to mazimize their stay in the Finger Lakes.  Geneva serves as the hub for this dynamic wine and water region, with ready access to hundreds of wineries, vast water recreation activities, and increidble historic and cultural assets.  The Visitors' Center will be staffed by the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce.

The project is made possible by grants from the New York State Dormitory Authority and the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program, wth support from New York State Senator Michael F. Nozzolio; in addition to hundreds of private donors and museum members.

Final design and construction will commence on execution of grant documents.
