The City Clerk's office in conveniently located in downtown Geneva. Office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. For marriage licenses, please arrive by 4:00 p.m.
Two employees, the City Clerk and the Deputy City Clerk, staff the office. The Office issues several licenses (including dog licenses, marriage licenses, conservation licenses, bingo and games of chance licenses, taxi owner and operator licenses, coin amusement devices, refuse collectors, peddlers and autioneers), records the minutes of all City Council meetings, and records all vital statistics in the City (births, deaths and marriages). The City Clerk is also the RMO (Records Management Officer) and processes all Freedom of Information requests and claims for distribution to the proper departments. Cemetery records for both Washington and Glenwood Cemeteries are also recorded in the office. Staff is committed to supplying information, knowledge, reference and cooperation to the general public, all departments and elected officials.
