Accomplishments and Priorities
2009 Accomplishments include:
• Complaints Addressed 21,6535
• Custodial Arrests 1209
• Drug Arrest 152
• DWI Arrests 72
• Vehicle and Traffic Arrests 4274
Other Accomplishments:
- Helped expand and worked with neighborhood watch groups to enhance the quality of life in neighborhoods;
- Continued addressing public safety issues involving neighborhood security and our youth;
- Worked towards achieving full staffing as staff retirements occurred;
- Maintained effective uniform visibility on City streets, utilizing motor vehicles, bicycles and foot patrols;
- Provided relevant training for Police Officers; and
- Monitored convicted sex offenders’ activities and whereabouts.
2010 Priorities include:
- Utilize effective prevention and enforcement techniques so as to appropriately address issues of crime in the City;
- Provided visible pro-active Police patrols in all areas of the City;
- Provided support to existing and new neighborhood associations;
- Continue to increase relative training for all sworn Officers;
- Monitor sex offenders’ activities and whereabouts; and
- Work with the College Community relation groups
