2012 Summer Recreation Information!

KIDS FUN RUN for PLAY at Lakefront Park!
Saturday, June 23rd 2012
Time: 11am Race Start, Register 1/2yr prior
Ages: 2-12yrs
This year we are teaming up with our Community Lakefront Playground Committee to bring you a fun day for you and your kids!
Race day includes: t-shirts, snacks, and awards for all participants!
Races headed up by Arlene Eddington with games and activities
provided by other local community youth organizations.
A$5 donation is asked for race entry and all money will go towards
the new Lakefront Community Playground! Please email
jlt@geneva.ny.us to pre-register and guarantee a t-shirt size!
Geneva REC DEPT. Summer Recreation!
Dates: July 2—August 10 ( 6 Weeks)
Days: Monday thru Thursday
(First Week, we will not have programming on Weds. July 4th)
Time: 9:00 a.m. until Noon
Ages: 6-12 years (must be 6+ years by July 5 or 1st grade in fall ‘12)
Location: Lakefront Park, Geneva
Registrations: There is no pro-rating for weekly attendance, children must be registered
by the previous Friday to be able to attend the proceeding Monday session.
A $10 Fee will be added for “Day Of” registration.
Fee: $25.00 per week Residents / $35.00 per week Non-Residents ($10.00 late fee)
* Scholarships are available at the Recreation Department


OUTDOOR ADVENTURE DAYS—Friday trips
*Children must be registered by the Wednesday of each trip to be eligible to attend.*

Location: Pickup and return at Lakefront Park by Chamber of Commerce
Fees: $20.00 participants/$25.00 non-part.
Aug. 3rd Roseland Trip $30.00 participants/ $35.00 non-part.
Join the summer recreation staff for a day of hiking, swimming and exploring our
local state parks! Non-Part. = Children not registered in the weekly summer rec.
program.
RAINY DAY PROMISE !— Even if we are “rained” out on an Adventure Day, we
will still provide programming during the designated times. We will have
fun games at the indoor turf and will transport children to the Geneva HS
Pool for swimming!


SCHOOL OF FISH—Youth Swimming Lessons

Location: American Legion Pool

Open to all levels of swimming. These two week sessions will enhance your child’s current swimming skills. Certificates will be given to children completing skill levels. Inclement
weather dates are TBD by the instructors. Max. enrollment 12 children per session. Registration Deadlines: Session I—July 6, Session II—July 20

OUTDOOR SCIENCE CAMP
Come and explore the outdoors while we put together some fun and educational experiments that you can replicate at home for more summer fun!
Dates: Monday—Thurs. Aug. 6-9th
Time: 1:00—3:00 p.m.

Location: Lakefront Building (BELOW Chamber of Commerce)

JUNIOR CHEF
Be the littlest top chef in your kitchen! Learn healthy and fun ways to make easy meals at home! Max. 10 children per session. Chef’s will get to personalize and make their own apron.

Ages: 6-12yrs.
This is a FREE, DROP-IN program, no pre-registration is required. Bring your kids down to enjoy some organized fun at their local park with our summer staff! Drinking water will be provided, no bathroom facilities are available. Program will be cancelled if inclement weather is anticipated.

Practices: beginning week of 6/4
Location: GHS soccer field
Age Groups: 4-5yr olds, 6-7yr olds,
8-9yr olds, 10-11yr olds
Fee: $60 Geneva Town/City Res.
$80 non-residents
This year we are expanding our program to include both practices and games. Practices are TBD but will be twice a week between 5-8pm. Each child will be designated a team and coach & will get a soccer jersey to sport on the field. Games Sat. morning at the GHS field.
