Recreation Complex – Indoor Turf

The Recreation Department and the City of Geneva are excited to announce the addition of Indoor Turf to their Recreation Complex.

  This indoor turf will be utilized during the spring and summer months.  This turf truly creates a multi-purpose facility at the GRC and will allow teams from all over the area to practice and play on turf.  The turf has soccer and box lacrosse lines, but can be utilized for a variety of other activities, including flag football, dodgeball, exercise classes and much more. 

 We are looking forward to the 2011 season and to see both youth and adults partake in new and exciting programs at the GRC.
 
A fee schedule for turf time rental is in the process of being formulated.  Please contact our office for any questions about the turf.

SPRING CLASSES

ADULT BOX LACROSSE (Men’s and Women’s)
Dates: Monday’s May 2nd - June 27 (no session May 31)
Time: Women’s 6:00-7:00 p.m. Men’s 7:15-8:15p
Ages: 16 and up
Coordinator: Dave Sharman & Janelle Toner
Fee: $6.00 per night or $40.00 for full 8 weeks
Drop in leagues to get the “ball rolling”. Non-contact league for adults. No previous experience required. Sticks, mouth guards, gloves and face protection is required. No cleats, turf shoes or sneakers only. If enough register, we can consider tournaments and leagues for the summer!

ADULT INDOOR SOCCER (Men’s and Women’s)
Dates: Sunday’s May 1— June 26 (no session May 30)
Time: Women’s 4:00-5:00p.m. Men’s 5:15-6:15p.m.
Ages: 16 and up
Coordinator: Dave Sharman & Janelle Toner
Fee: $5.00 per night or $32.00 for full 8 weeks
Play with friends at our new indoor turf facility. Starting as a drop in league where you will get an opportunity to play with many different people. If program grows, we will consider full fledged leagues and tournaments.


YOUTH INDOOR SOCCER CLINIC
Grades: K-6th
Time: 1p – 3p
Dates: Spring Break - Monday – Thurs April 18-21st
Fee: $25 per or max $40 for family
This clinic will allow kids to practice their turf skills and also learn new aspects of soccer. Each age level will be broken out to practice different skills. Coach Jeff Dunham from Geneva High School and other soccer athletes will be there to lead the kids in fun activities and skill building sessions.

YOUTH BOX LACROSSE CLINIC
Dates: Monday – Thursday April 18 – April 21st
Time:10a-12p
Fee: $25 per child,  $40 max for family
Boys and Girls in grades K-6th  
Learn the basics on box lacrosse, have fun playing and learning about lacrosse and practicing your skills.  Age and ability levels will be broken out to focus on different skills and abilities!  We expect some HWS and HS lacrosse athletes to assist in teaching these skills and showing how much fun lacrosse can be!
