Assessor's Office Services

The Assessor's Office is responsible for annually assessing real properties at a uniform level of value.  This requires the ongoing maintenance of property and inventory records, sales date, tax maps, and related Real Property Tax Law and literature.

The Assessor's Office is also responsible for processing both whole and partial exemptions.  This involves 43 types of exemptions and collectively involves 5,063 exemptions annually as opposed to only 4,690 parcels of real property in the City.

The City Assessor's calendar is as follows:

January 1st - Valuation date

Feb-March - Mailing of Exemption Forms

May 1st - Taxable Status Date - All Exemptions forms due

June 1st - Tentative Assessment Roll Filing

3rd Tuesday/June - Grievance day

August 1st - Final Assessment Roll filing
 

Status of Assessment update:

 2000, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2008 completed 
Annual reassessment program started roll year 2006.
2010 Equalization Rate/Level of Assessment - 100%
