Shade Tree Committee Membership and Documentation
According to the City Code, Section 327:
"The Committee shall
consist of
six to nine members, appointed by the City Manager and approved by
the
City Council. Members should be drawn from a variety of backgrounds,
including tree professionals; scientists; homeowners; the City
Engineer
in his capacity as Director of Public Works; and city government. "

Criteria for Shade Tree Committee Membership
Minimal qualifications or experiences include but are not
limited to:
(1) an interest in trees, especially the health and
aesthetics of our public trees;
(2) a passable knowledge of
plants and plant requirements,
(3) a comfortable familiarity
with computers for Committee correspondence (e.g., word
processing, spreadsheet layouts, transmission of data via email
attachments, etc.),
(4) an acceptance of Committee objectives as
reflected in its foundation documents, and
(5) a willingness to
participate actively in Committee activities.
